President Chakwera Calls for Unity and Comfort in Wake of National Tragedy.

CHAKWERA CONFORTS MALAWIANS

Lilongwe, Malawi – President Lazarus Chakwera today addressed a grieving nation, urging Malawians to find solace in comforting one another following the tragic deaths of Vice President Saulos Chilima and eight other individuals. The President emphasized the profound loss felt by the families of the deceased and the nation as a whole, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of all who perished.

In a heartfelt appeal, President Chakwera extended his gratitude to those who have refrained from exploiting the tragedy for political ends. He condemned such actions, asserting that they serve only to inflict further pain on already wounded families and a mourning nation.

The President called upon Malawians to engage in prayer for one another, offering a poignant reminder of the ephemeral nature of life and its divine origin. “Life comes from God,” he stated, “and one day, everyone will die.”

He underscored the paramount importance of respecting the deceased, highlighting Vice President Chilima as a “humble, hard-working leader for all Malawians.” President Chakwera affirmed that the other eight individuals who lost their lives were equally valuable contributors to society.

Furthermore, President Chakwera disclosed that he had personally met with the bereaved families to understand their concerns. He assured the nation that all issues raised by the families would be comprehensively addressed before the end of June, demonstrating a commitment to supporting those most directly affected by the tragedy.

As Malawi grapples with this immense loss, President Chakwera’s message resonates as a call for unity, empathy, and a shared commitment to honoring the memory of those who have passed.
